WITH the new year fast approaching I thought it was best to sort out all those 'things' I've been meaning to do for ages.So today I've been putting all the music on my iPod I haven't got round to doing yet and after listening to some classic Eric B & Rakim tracks and some old school LL Cool J I thought I'd put together a list of my top ten favourite hip-hop records.
I've always prefered 'old school' hip-hop records as post 93 I think the music industry has been saturated with a string of dreadful 2Pac Sahkur gangster rap wannabe's that bare no resemblance to the true meaning of the genre.I don't think I could pick a favourite out of the list but Public Enemy's It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back has to be one of the greatest records of all time.
The thing which makes me laugh when I listen to the record is the British announcer that appears on a few tracks and skits.
The MC is non other than BBC Radio 1's Dave Pearce who is now famous for his Dance Anthems radio show.
Anyway here is my list and I'm not necessarily saying these are the best hip-hop records of all time - they are simply my favourites.
