Help save Salford Lads Club
THE well-known Salford Lads Club, made famous by The Smiths, is set to close unless £1 million can be raised to fund repairs.I decided to do my bit by buying a 'Big Mouth Strikes Again' t-shirt from the appeal website at Salford Lads Club.
Morrissey has even tried to help save the club by donating £20,000 to the appeal fund.
The club became famous because of a photograph (Above) of The Smiths that appeared on the inside sleeve of their album The Queen Is Dead.
The famous photo, by Stephen Wright, featured the band standing outside the Salford Boys Club.

Since then the club has featured in The Smiths music video (Above) for their single Stop Me If You've Heard This One Before and the photograph has been accepted into the National Portrait Gallery.
